“all the men wanted her to dance with them” but “Sheila danced in gaily” and wandered to herself as she danced: “I can see a dozen sweet-faced little girls danced round the chanting, meaning it’s not only I but everyone was taking part in the dance”.
Dance is a performing art form consisting of purposefully selected sequences of human movement. This movement has aesthetic and symbolic value, and is acknowledged as dance by performers and observers within a particular culture.
Dance, involves the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music and within a given space, for the purpose of expressing an idea or emotion, releasing energy, or simply.
In my culture, dance brings a lot of meaning with it. The female do dance to bring emotions of love while men do dance to command authority and respect in the Society. There is yet another dance performed to keep a state of peace in the Society. A masquerade will have to dance around and hunt for witches and wizards with a rifle gun, shooting occasionally to scare them away and at the end of this dance the whole village becomes calm and peaceful environment is restored. Another dance is also done to give the death in the Society a peaceful rest.
These are a few essence of Dance in my culture.
